Suao Port

Su'ao Port is located in Su'ao Town, Yilan County, Taiwan. It is located in Su'ao Bay at the southern end of the Lanyang Plain and faces the Pacific Ocean to the east. It is a natural port with an excellent geographical location.

Su'ao Port was formerly known as "Donggang". It was originally a small port surrounded by mountains on three sides. It is a natural and excellent harbor formed by Beifang'ao, Su'ao and Nanfang'ao, and the situation is quite dangerous. During the Japanese colonial period, the Taiwan Governor-General's Office opened the Nanfang'ao Fishing Port and Neipi Fishing Port in Nanfang'ao. At the end of World War II, there was an intention to build an international port, but it was interrupted due to Japan's defeat.
