Yixing Yaohu Town Travel Guide~

Went on a business trip to Shanghai, and had free time on the weekend, so I chose a nearby city for a trip—Yixing. Then I took a stroll around Yaohu Town. This place really doesn’t lose to Wuzhen at all; the scenery is beautiful and more diverse than Wuzhen’s.
Plus, it’s very cost-effective. Group tickets plus train tickets cost a total of 85 yuan, with individual tickets at 60 yuan and train tickets at 30 yuan.
I walked in and took the small train back. There were very few people on the return trip, and basically no scenery, just lots of greenery, occasionally a tea field.
On the way, I also saw the small train going in; at least on the side facing the train, there was plenty of scenery.
So, I recommend taking the small train in, getting off inside, and then walking back. This is better, especially if you plan to take the small train out in the evening—that would be boring, probably just a dark, shadowy ride.
If you’re not watching the evening fireworks and water show, the whole trip takes about three to four hours, walking, stopping, and taking photos. It’s quite pleasant here, the air is good, so you can stay longer~
