Have you heard of Yogyakarta, the ancient city in Indonesia?
There, you can experience a time slip!
Long ago, the king of Yogyakarta built a water palace. The vast pool and magnificent gardens are still beautifully preserved today.
Believe it or not, there is a secret underground tunnel there.
It’s not listed in any guidebook.
After visiting and touring the water palace, you might be able to find the door that leads to the secret underground tunnel.
On my third visit, I finally found that door!
Passing through the tunnel is thrilling and nerve-wracking.
The white walls, a symbol of the royal family, stretch endlessly in this UNESCO World Heritage area.
The tunnel itself is painted entirely white. It’s breathtakingly beautiful.
After passing through the tunnel, you can see a beautiful castle made only of stone. Though it has been damaged over time, it still tries to preserve its original form, as if eagerly waiting for visitors.
Beyond that, there is a very old observation deck with a panoramic view of Yogyakarta.
You can’t get there by taxi. You have to walk and go through the underground tunnel to reach it.
Make time at least once in your life to search for the underground tunnel in Yogyakarta!
There, the beautiful ancient scenery still remains ❤️
