Yichun, a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi Province, is located in northwestern Jiangxi Province, between longitudes 113°54′–116°27′ east and latitudes 27°33′–29°06′ north. It borders Nanchang to the east, Fuzhou to the southeast, Ji'an and Xinyu to the south, Pingxiang to the southwest, Jiujiang to the north, and Changsha and Yueyang in Hunan Province to the northwest. Yichun boasts a rich cultural heritage and has long been hailed as "a beautiful land south of the Yangtze River and a land rich in cultural relics." In the sixth year of Emperor Gaozu of the Han Dynasty (201 BC), Chen Ying, the Marquis of Tangyi, was ordered to build a city and establish a government. He named it Yichun because "a spring beside the city, clear and beautiful like spring water, was a pleasant drink." The famous line from Wang Bo's "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng," one of the Four Great Poets of the Early Tang Dynasty, "The land is rich in natural resources, and the people are outstanding and the land is blessed with splendor"—all references to Yichun. Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty wrote, "Don't think Yichun is far away; the mountains and rivers offer many wonderful sights." Zhu Xi, a Neo-Confucianist of the Song Dynasty, lamented, "Walking through the wilderness of Yichun, I see so many wonderful mountains on all sides." Tao Yuanming, the founder of pastoral poetry during the Jin Dynasty; Song Yingxing, author of "The Exploitation of the Works of Nature" during the Ming Dynasty; modern physicist Wu Youxun; and two-time Olympic champion Yang Wenjun are all representatives of Yichun.

Mount Mingyue starts operations around 8:30 AM (cable car and visitor center). Many scenic areas operate during daylight hours (≈ 7:30–17:00). Best seasons are spring and autumn when weather is mild and scenery is vibrant.
At Mount Mingyue, the cable car upward trip costs ~ 80 CNY (one way) to the mid station. Other attractions like forest parks or waterfalls may charge modest admission (varies by site). Tickets are typically bought on-site at the attraction entrance.
For major scenic areas (e.g. Mingyue) or resorts, booking ahead is advisable during peak season or holidays. For less busy times, you can often purchase tickets on arrival.
To see the main attractions (Mingyue, hot springs, museums), 2–3 days is reasonable. For deeper forest and remote parks, more time may help.
Major scenic areas and hot spring resorts may offer guided tours or bilingual staff, especially in Mandarin and perhaps English; check in advance with the specific site.
Evening hot spring bathing is common. Some resorts may host cultural or night light shows. Commercial and pedestrian zones are active at night.
Peak crowding occurs during national holidays, weekends, and in summer. Visit weekdays, early mornings, and shoulder seasons for fewer crowds.
Major scenic zones and resorts have restrooms, restaurants or kiosks, visitor centers, rest pavilions, and shops. More remote forest areas may have limited facilities.
Lower stretches, cable car, and resort areas are relatively accessible. Trails like plank roads or steep waterfall climbs may be challenging for those with mobility issues.
