On this day in Yokohama, I took my time exploring the scenic landscapes of Yamate on foot. Starting at the Harbor View Hill Park observation deck, I was greeted by the expansive view of Yokohama Port. The sea breeze brought a sense of relaxation, making it feel like a leisurely getaway. Next, I wandered into Motomachi Park, where rows of shady trees and winding stone steps resembled an old photograph quietly unfolding.
Strolling along Yamate Hon-dori, I passed by the elegant British House and the cozy Yamate 234 House. These century-old buildings with white walls and red roofs hold memories of foreign cultures. Turning a corner, I arrived at Motomachi Shopping Street. Though the street is not long, each shop has its own unique charm. A casual stroll and a cup of coffee here felt wonderfully pleasant.
Finally, I ventured into the bustling Yokohama Chinatown, where enticing aromas filled the air. I grabbed a char siu bun or a pineapple cake to enjoy while walking, like a mini adventure in the city. This day wasn’t about rushing through an itinerary; it was about following my heart and letting the old streets and scenery of Yokohama slowly make their way into my soul.
