Tangible History and Natural Beauty in Furong Town 🌿

Furongzhen is everything I wanted it to be! This ancient port town, nestled over a natural waterfall feeding the main river of Hunan and Sichuan provinces is truly breathtaking. Getting there is not hard at all, take a high speed train from Zhangjiajie and you can arrive within 30 minutes. From the train station it’s essential to take one of the local taxis as there are no DiDi drivers in the town. Nevertheless, the taxi drivers are really friendly and do not charge an expensive rate - only ¥30. A ticket to the attraction costs ¥108 for foreign visitors. Once you’re there you can easily stroll around the ancient city and visit the natural sights and temple at no extra cost. The food is phenomenal - I had spicy tofu and garlic pak choi picked from the local area; it was so delicious. However, there is not so much to do, so don’t plan to spend an entire day here, maybe just 2-3 hours as I did, if you’re not planning to stay overnight or to see the nighttime performances. I cannot recommend this ancient place enough - come check it out!
