🏔️ Baisha Ancient Town, Lijiang
📍 Baisha Ancient Town, Lijiang, Yunnan
🕝 March 2025
This town is near the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The weather is cool and pleasant, perfect for strolling both day and night. There are cute shops and adorable animals.
☕ We arrived in the afternoon and stopped for coffee at 7sea café, a popular cafe with a view of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. There were many Chinese tourists waiting to take photos.
🍲 They said you must try the yak meat and mushrooms here, so we stopped at Yunweiji Yak Meat Hot Pot / 雲味集. It was really delicious. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and spacious. The lady at the restaurant was very helpful.
Continuing to stroll around, we came across many shops. I can't remember the names of the shops, but most of them are in Chinese.
🏠 We stayed at Yulong August Guanshanhai Light Luxury Homestay / 丽江玉龙八月观山海民宿 (白沙古镇店). A new, clean, minimalist, Muji-style Japanese-style accommodation located in the Old Town of Baisha. It's just a short walk away. The room is beautiful, well-decorated, and fully equipped. There's even a projector for watching movies, making it convenient and easy to walk around the Old Town. The staff were excellent, helping with luggage, hailing a car, and providing advice. We communicated via translation apps and WeChat. The breakfast was delicious and very impressive. I booked through Trip.com (this room cost around 3,000 baht, sleeps 4, has two large beds, and includes breakfast).
🍜 Dinner was "Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles" at Zhonghuagu Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles, a famous Yunnan specialty. The hot food was perfect for the cool night air. The restaurant is located right at the entrance to the Old Town. Stop for a light drink before bed.
🌤 Mornings were very peaceful, with a clear view of the snow-capped mountains from the rooftop of the accommodation. After a stroll, we stopped for a morning coffee at ME LET Café. The coffee was so good I bought some beans to take home.
