Zentsuji, located in Zentsuji City, Kagawa Prefecture, is a historic temple known as the birthplace of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), the founder of Shingon Buddhism. 🧘♀️
The temple grounds are spacious and feature many attractions, including the five-story pagoda and Daishi Hall. The "Kaidan Meguri" (ordination platform tour) in particular is a mystical experience, groping your way through pitch-black corridors—it's almost spiritually cleansing. ✨
I visited in the quiet of the morning, and the air was clear. It was a magical place, calming my soul just by walking.
It's perfect for history buffs, as well as those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and reconnect with themselves.
It's a wonderful place for a leisurely stroll with your partner, and a great way to clear your mind on a solo trip.
I happened to stop by this place during my travels, and it unexpectedly left a deep impression on me.
