Living in a fairyland straight out of an ink painting

Just got back from Zhangjiajie and stayed at a guesthouse that surprised me so much I screamed! Songfeng Mingyu Boutique Vacation Guesthouse completely changed my perception of guesthouses, an ultimate display of Chinese aesthetics, every snapshot looks like a masterpiece📸
🏡 Guesthouse Highlights:
• The rooms are even more stunning than the pictures! A perfect blend of classical and modern styles, the TV background wall in the king room features an ink painting design, and the curtains in the double room let in sunlight creating a great atmosphere. I especially love the wooden furniture and porcelain decorations; every detail exudes Chinese elegance.
• The staff are like friends, helping with luggage at the station pickup and thoughtfully asking if we needed suggestions for the next day's itinerary at night. The most touching moment was when they proactively offered us umbrellas on a rainy day😭
📍 Prime Location:
Right at 579 Xibu Street, super close to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area entrance, taxi rides basically start at the base fare. We left at 7 AM and reached the forest park entrance in 10 minutes, completely avoiding the tourist group queues!
🚗 Transportation Test:
Taking a ride-hailing car to the East Gate costs only 6-7 yuan, with lightning-fast order acceptance (tested: a car arrives within 3 minutes), much freer than the scenic area shuttle bus. The housekeeper also helped arrange a carpool to the Grand Canyon at a very reasonable price.
🌄 Nearby Activities:
• A 10-minute walk to Xibu Street Night Market, where you can eat your fill of cured meat and Tujia sauce pancakes
• At night, you can see a sky full of stars from the guesthouse rooftop terrace, and even capture the Milky Way on your phone
• Very close to the "Charming Xiangxi" performance venue, and you get a discount if you book tickets in advance through the housekeeper
For the first time, I fell in love with a city because of a guesthouse. Songfeng Mingyu perfectly captures the atmosphere of a Chinese-style vacation. Wearing Hanfu and taking photos in the tea room, even the passing aunties complimented us, saying we looked like we stepped out of a painting🧚♀️
