"The Zhaozhou Bridge is very majestic. It is more than 50 meters long and more than 9 meters wide. Cars and horses can pass in the middle and people can walk on both sides. Such a long bridge is made entirely of stone. There are no piers underneath, only a large arched bridge hole..."
[○] Zhaozhou Bridge is built entirely of stone and is a single-span, open-shoulder stone arch bridge. There are two small holes on the shoulders of both ends of the bridge, which is the first "open shoulder arch" structure in the history of world bridges.
[○]This bridge is not only strong but also beautiful. There are stone railings on both sides of the bridge, and the railings are carved with exquisite patterns: some are carved with two dragons entwined with each other, spitting out beautiful water from their mouths. Some are carved with two flying dragons, with their front paws against each other, each looking back and gazing into the distance. Others are engraved with two dragons playing with a pearl.
