The new building of the Municipal Museum will be open to the public in 2021. There are a total of 20 exhibition halls on the upper and lower four floors, and 16 of them are open. It is quite large, and it is quite a test of your legs to visit all of them. However, the value of the exhibited cultural relics is a bit unsatisfactory compared to the grand scale of the exhibition hall.
The basic exhibition is on the second floor, divided into three parts: "Creation Capital", "Heaven and Earth", and "Hundred Years of History". It presents a panoramic view of the historical development of Zhengzhou from the Paleolithic Age to modern times in chronological order. Among them, the fine cultural relics are basically in the "Creation Capital" exhibition hall; "Heaven and Earth" is mainly a scene and cultural display, with few actual cultural relics; "Hundred Years of History" introduces modern history.
Among the special exhibitions, the ceramics of "Earth and Fire Art" on the third floor and the statues of "Wonderful Art" on the first floor deserve special attention, especially the "Earth and Fire Art" exhibition hall, which takes time as the axis and exhibits fine ceramic vessels made and used in the hinterland of the Central Plains from the Neolithic Age to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The shapes are exquisite, the colors are either thick or bright, and the hardware facilities such as light sources and glass are excellent. The first picture and pictures 7-17 are all from this exhibition hall. The museum is located within the West Fourth Ring Road, close to the Longhai Expressway, and has a free underground parking lot. It is still very convenient to drive here. Although there are fewer hard goods, it is not as crowded as the Provincial Museum. It is a good place to take a walk with children.
