Come to Zhongshan to check in @Xiao Youmei and China Modern Music Education Exhibition

#Zhongshan Attractions

For those who like Chinese modern music, you should be familiar with Xiao Youmei. This time when I went to Zhongshan Museum, there was a rare special exhibition about his life, so of course I had to check it out.

Xiao Youmei was born in Xiangshan (now Zhongshan) and grew up in Macau. He traveled across the ocean to study in Japan and Germany for fourteen years, specializing in Chinese and foreign music. Sun Yat-sen treated him as an uncle and nephew, and Peking University President Cai Yuanpei regarded him as his right-hand man in music education. This pioneer of modern Chinese music education was not only China's first PhD in musicology, but also a master who founded the history of modern Chinese music.

The exhibition is divided into four parts: "Life Snapshots", "Music Creation", "Music Education" and "Music Theory". It uses more than 100 precious physical materials and hundreds of historical photos to showcase Xiao Youmei's musical thoughts and achievements in music education, and interpret Xiao Youmei's multifaceted life. This exhibition is the first to showcase Xiao Youmei's musical works, theoretical manuscripts, writings and self-edited video collections. It makes full use of rich musical elements and symbols, sets up scene spaces and musical instrument interactive areas, so that more audiences can understand Xiao Youmei's great contribution to China's modern music education.

Friends who like Chinese modern music, remember to check in.
