Zhenmenyu Village

After being immersed in the city's hustle and bustle for too long, I found myself increasingly yearning for the serene beauty of mountains and waters. So, on a sunny weekend, I packed my bags and headed to Zhenmenyu Village in Boshan Town, embarking on an encounter with nature.

The car wound its way up the twisting mountain road, and the scenery outside the window unfolded like a scroll painting. Rolling mountains stretched endlessly, their peaks layered in emerald hues, with lush trees blanketing the slopes like thick velvet. Occasionally, wisps of white clouds drifted lazily among the peaks, dreamlike and enchanting, making me lose myself in the moment. The ancient verse, "Though no rain falls on the mountain path, the verdant air dampens one's clothes," perfectly captured my mood.

Upon arriving at Zhenmenyu, the moment I stepped out of the car, the crisp air, infused with the fragrance of earth and greenery, washed away my travel fatigue. The first sight to greet me was the Zhenmenyu Reservoir—a mirror-like expanse of emerald water nestled among the surrounding mountains. A gentle breeze rippled the surface, sending shimmering waves across the lake. In the distance, the reflections of the peaks swayed in the water, blurring the line between mountain and lake.

Strolling along the reservoir's edge, I passed wildflowers blooming in riotous colors, adding a lively touch to the tranquil landscape. The sound of babbling streams and birdsong intertwined, creating a symphony of nature. Here, the noise of the world faded away, leaving only the peace and beauty of the mountains and waters.

The village was dotted with ancient stone houses, their weathered walls whispering tales of time. Stepping inside felt like traveling back to a simpler, more innocent era. Occasionally, I encountered elderly villagers sitting by their doorways, their faces lit with warm smiles and eyes filled with deep affection for their homeland. Life here seemed to slow down, and time stretched endlessly.

Beyond its breathtaking scenery, Zhenmenyu is steeped in history. It was once a revolutionary base during the Anti-Japanese War, where heroes fought bravely for the nation's liberation. Standing on this land, I could almost glimpse the fiery struggles of the past, and my heart swelled with reverence for those who came before.

As the sun set, its golden glow bathed every corner of Zhenmenyu, gilding the village in light. With a heart full of nostalgia, I began my journey home. Zhenmenyu, this hidden paradise deep in the mountains, had left an indelible mark on my soul—and I already looked forward to our next reunion.
