The Longjiang Song Scenic Area is located in Yangxi Village, Bangshan Town, Longhai City, the birthplace of the Longjiang style. Centered around the Longjiang Cultural Park on Baozhu Island and connected to the eastern Zhangzhou landscape area by the old and new Xixi Bridges, the area is a focal point. The core area features the site of the "Drought Blockage" campaign in Yangxi Village, the nationally renowned birthplace of the "Longjiang style." The scenic area also includes attractions such as a fishing platform, the Spring Rain Corridor, ancient cave dwellings, the Longjiang Spirit Exhibition Hall, and the Hong Shude Ceramic Art Museum.
Hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland in Longhai County urgently needed water diversion for irrigation. To seize the farming season, ensure spring plowing, and secure a bumper harvest, the Longhai County Party Committee issued the slogan, "As long as there's water in the Jiulong River, it's not considered a drought," and mobilized the entire county to block the river and divert water to combat drought and ensure a good harvest. During the Xixi River blockade, the "Yuzhen Style" of "saving 100,000 people first, worrying about 2,000 later, sacrificing pawns to save the chariot, and saving everything" emerged. During the Beixi River blockade, the Shazhou Brigade of Jiaomei Commune exemplified the principle of "losing 800 people is nothing, saving 60,000 is paramount." During the Nanxi River blockade, the Xiling Brigade of Dongsi Commune demonstrated the touching example of "flooding over 200 acres of fertile farmland is a small gain, saving over 30,000 acres of paddy fields downstream is a great gain." These exemplary and moving examples ultimately shaped the nationally recognized "Longjiang Style," or "Longjiang Spirit."
