
Shouxi Park is a newly built comprehensive water park in Putian City. It is located east of Licheng Avenue in the city center, west of Yanshou Creek, and north of Sihua Bridge. Construction is expected to begin in July 2011. The park's planning theme is "Clear Creek, Green Island, Ancient Bridge, Red Lychee, Pastoral, and Rural Area," embodying the harmony of ecology and leisure, and between man and nature. The park is planned to consist of eight themed functional areas: the Shouxi Fishing and Boating Area, the Folk Culture Area, the Waterfront Vibrant Landscape Area, the Mountain Culture Area, the Leisure Orchard Area, the Ecological Education Area, the Recreation and Leisure Area, and the Lychee Island Landscape Area.
In the "Shouxi Fishing Boat" scenic area of Shouxi Park, the park currently has lychee forests and other fruit trees with good vegetation; the project land involves three natural villages, including Yanshou Village, Putou Village, and Xibai Village. The water system of the entire park land is developed, and it is a flood retention area for the Dongzhen Reservoir to discharge flood water.
The first phase of the Shouxi Park construction plan covers an area of approximately 587 mu, and mainly focuses on the landscape of the main entrance square on the west side of the park, including the west main entrance of the park, Houcun Plum Garden, Liu Kezhuang Tomb and Memorial Hall, the south entrance, Wu Gong Prayer Hall, Zhaixing Tower, Xue Gong Pond and Yonggui Pavilion, and Zhuangyuan Well.
