
Jiuli Waterfall is a famous scenic spot located at the top of Wanshan Mountain, about 25 kilometers northeast of Xianyou County, Putian. It consists of three major scenic areas: Jiuli Lake, Maixia Rock, and Zhuoquan Rock, covering an area of 29 square kilometers. It is famous for its lake, caves, waterfalls, and rocks, with the waterfall being the most remarkable. Since ancient times, it has been known as "the most amazing waterfall in the world."
According to legend, during the reign of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, nine He brothers practiced alchemy here and later ascended to heaven on carp, hence the name Jiuli Lake. Located approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Xianyou County, Jiuli Lake, Maixiayan, and Zhuodi are home to numerous stories about the nine He brothers and the generations of devout believers who sought immortal dreams here.
Putian has a typical subtropical marine monsoon climate, with warm and rainy weather, making it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
