Damei Mountain is located in the transition zone between the Qinling Mountains and the Taihang Mountains, in the north of Xin'an County, Luoyang City, Henan Province, on the south bank of the upper reaches of the Xiaolangdi Reservoir. It is now a World Geopark with a forest coverage rate of over 95% and a maximum altitude of 1,346.6 meters. It is the only original ecological tourist attraction in China surrounded by the Yellow River on three sides.
The geological relics in the Damei Mountain Scenic Area, such as the red rock ravines, cross-bedding, ripple deposits, mud crack structures, collapse landforms, and clear water fjords, reflect the tremendous changes of the North China block between 800 and 1.2 billion years, and reproduce the spectacular scenes of the ebb and flow of ancient ocean tides and landslides and cracks in the ground. They have high research and ornamental value.
The peaks of Daimei appear and disappear in the sea of clouds, erratic and uncertain, like fairy pavilions and mirages. Whenever Phoenix Ridge appears above the clouds, it looks like a roc spreading its wings and soaring over the vast ocean, which is amazing. Daimei Mountain is a fairy mountain on the bank of the Yellow River. Climbing this mountain is like walking in a painting and wandering in a fairyland.
Daimei Mountain boasts a long history and rich culture, including the 3,000-year-old story of the Shang Dynasty. Since ancient times, it has been a renowned historical and cultural mountain for visitors to enjoy the mountains and water, and to ascend for blessings. With over 100 scenic spots , the scenic area's most distinctive feature and experience is the feeling of " the scenery passing by, the experience of wandering in a painting ." It is a comprehensive scenic spot integrating sightseeing, photography, outdoor leisure, and wellness retreats.
