The Longtan Grand Canyon Scenic Area, a National 5A-level scenic area and a National Geopark, is the core scenic area of the Luoyang Daimeishan World Geopark. It is a canyon scenic area dominated by the typical red rock ridges and ravines. Within the Luoyang Longtan Grand Canyon, gorges face each other, pools and waterfalls connect, towering cliffs, and secluded valleys are beautiful. The high gorges and gullies, formed by 1.2 billion years of geological sedimentation and 2.6 million years of water cutting and erosion, are truly unique and rare in the world.
