Yuntaitian Waterfall, located at the end of Quanpu Gorge in Yuntaishan Scenic Area, has a drop of 314 meters and is known as " China's Highest Waterfall . " From afar, the waterfall kisses the blue sky above and tumbles down through the rocks below, resembling a jade pillar supporting the sky or a white silk thread hanging in the air. The upper reaches of the waterfall resemble white clouds or wads of cotton wool, drifting down slowly and continuously. The lower reaches resemble flying flowers and splashing jade, cascading from the sky and plummeting into a clear pool.
The cascading waterfall creates a splash over a meter high in the pool, scattering thousands of piles of snow and sending up billowing mist that shrouds the falls in a hazy fog. Rainy seasons are even more magnificent, and when flash floods occur, the waterfall is like a wild horse running free, galloping day and night, its sound resonating for miles. From nearby, it sounds like the rumble of thunder, and from afar, it resembles the long tolling of an ancient bell.
The weather is suitable for all seasons, with waterfalls and springs in summer. There is a waterfall viewing event in Yuntai Mountain from August to September every year.
