
Jingangtai National Geopark is located 7 kilometers southeast of Shangcheng County, Xinyang City, Henan Province, at the junction of Henan and Anhui provinces. It covers a total area of 138 square kilometers, with 72 square kilometers of major geological sites. It consists of four main areas: Jingangtai Xihe Scenic Area, Jingangtai Maoer Peak, Liluocheng, and Donghe.
The park boasts over ten peaks over a thousand meters high. The main peak, Jingangtai, reaches 1,584 meters, the highest peak in the Dabie Mountains of Henan Province and is known as the "First Peak of Gwangju." Stretching from north to south, Jingangtai creates a breathtaking landscape of lush green mountains and emerald waters, with unique pines and grotesque rocks coexisting. The Jingangtai Xihe Scenic Area is Xinyang City's only national geological park, a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a national nature reserve, one of the country's 130 high-quality red tourism routes, an ecological tourism area in Henan Province, a Xinyang City anti-corruption education base, a youth revolutionary tradition education base, a photography base for hundreds of evening newspapers nationwide, the birthplace of the song "August Osmanthus Blossoms Everywhere," and a filming location.
Jingangtai Xihe Scenic Area is a comprehensive geopark integrating geology, subtropical scenery, biological treasures, and revolutionary culture. Here, visitors can admire the magnificent scenery created by nature, visit ecological tea gardens, and visit revolutionary sites, reminiscing about the glorious era when "osmanthus blossomed everywhere in August."
Boasting a warm and humid monsoon climate in the northern subtropics, Jingangtai is a place where you can enjoy a trip in all seasons, with towering green mountains in the distance and flowing water nearby.
Jingangtai National Geopark has scenic spots such as Xianji Stone, Chaoyang Cave, Pingdingpu, Qingliang Cave, Xianglongtan, Cat's Ear Stone, Boundary Ridge, Xiaohuangshan, Zhongliuzhu, Bilian Peak, Shushan Mengbi, Dashimen, Xianren Bridge, Longtou Rock, Huazu Temple and Imperial Palace.
