The Taihang Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in Linzhou City, in northwestern Henan Province, at the eastern foot of the South Taihang Mountains. Formed by the Lushui River, a tributary of the Zhuozhang River, which cuts through the Linlu Mountains, it forms a deep canyon, 50 kilometers long and 1.5 kilometers wide. Its banks are lined with typical Zhangshiyan landforms. The interlaced terraces and cliffs, the secluded valleys and the unique peaks create a magnificent canyon landscape. The canyon's elevation ranges from 800 to 1,739 meters, with a relative height difference of over 1,000 meters.
The area is characterized by high cliffs, majestic peaks, masculine and powerful features, turbulent Cangxi River, and waterfalls hanging in all directions. The peaks, ridges, terraces, cliffs, gorges, waterfalls, ridges, and springs are all in various shapes and forms, making it a typical representative of the northern landscape.
Here, you'll find rolling green forests, cliffs carved from the ground, rocks of various shapes and sizes, waterfalls as smooth as silver, deep pools rippling with emerald waters, majestic temples, captivating caves, and fascinating legends. Peach Blossom Valley
Taohua Valley is a valley within a valley, approximately 4 kilometers long, with an elevation difference of approximately 800 to 1,736 meters, representing a height difference of nearly a thousand meters. The valley is dotted with towering peaks, each one abrupt and majestic. The winding Taohua Creek runs through the canyon, with vines draped along its banks and a vast expanse of mixed forests. The green tide, swaying with the mountain breeze, resembles a surging sea. Taohua Valley is known for its stunning scenery, earning it the nickname "Love Valley." As the mist dissipates, the mountains transform into clouds, flowers bloom, and birds sing. Waterfalls cascade down the mountains, and springs flow into pools as clear as mirrors. The streams flowing down the valley cascade into waterfalls, which in turn cascade into pools, each one connected to the other, creating the allure of Taohua Valley's picturesque canyon.
Taihang Sky Road
The scenic area, situated atop the Taihang Mountains, stretches approximately 30 kilometers from Peach Blossom Valley in the north to Xianxia Valley in the south. It's a key component of the scenic loop and offers a stunning view of the magnificent Taihang Mountains. A sightseeing bus ride along the Taihang Sky Road offers breathtaking views of the deep canyons and towering rock faces.
Canyoning
The Taihang Grand Canyon rafting experience is located in the Taihang Grand Canyon in Linzhou, Henan Province, a National AAAAA-level tourist attraction, a National Key Scenic Area, and a National Geopark. The rafting journey spans 4,500 meters, with a drop of 85 meters. It takes 2-2.5 hours and is located entirely within a mountain forest zone.
