Longtiangou, located in Suiping County, Zhumadian City, is a remnant of the Funiu Mountains. Named after Jiulong Mountain and Longtian Mountain, it enjoys the reputation of being the " Jiuzhaigou Valley " of the Central Plains . It is a new tourist destination urgently awaiting development, blending natural and cultural landscapes.
The scenic area is deep and tranquil, with a pristine landscape. It features Dragon Mountain, Longtiangou, Feishi Mountain, and Jinding Mountain. Numerous scenic spots are scattered throughout the area, including Paomaling, Fenghuangling, Eight Immortals Stone, Zhenshan Stone, Crouching Tiger Stone, Bailongquan, Longtian Village, Black Stone Cliff, Thousand Faces Cliff, Thousand Layer Cliff, and the Heavenly Stone Bagua Formation, all of which offer breathtaking scenery and a vibrant atmosphere.
Other historical sites, such as the Longtianzhai battlefield ruins, Liuxiukeng, Dianjiangtai, Qiganwo, Qinwang Temple, and the General's Tomb, record countless historical stories. In modern revolutionary history, the New Fourth Army's Fifth Division fought a fierce battle here during its breakout. Revolutionaries of the older generation, such as Li Xiannian, Pi Dingjun, and Liu Zihou, left their footprints here. The leopard-hunting hero Zhong Diankui still lives here, and his legendary story, recorded in the essay "Hunter," was included in junior high school Chinese textbooks.
In spring, the mountains are covered with flowers, birds are singing, and the flowers are fragrant. In midsummer, the trees are green and the water is gurgling. In autumn, the mountains are covered with red and the forests are dyed red. In winter, the snow is white as jade. The four seasons are like a changing picture scroll, which makes people linger.
