The Henan Yuzhou Jun Kiln Site Museum and the Yuzhou Jun Porcelain Research Institute are located in the northern section of Junguan Kiln Road, Yuzhou Ancient City, West District, Yuzhou City, within the Song Dynasty Jun Guan Kiln Site Protection Area, a national key cultural relic protection unit, covering an area of 47,000 square meters. It is a national public institution with integrated management and institute, and has a large number of senior engineers, professors, senior arts and crafts artists, and famous craftsmen. It is a talented and strong institution, and the only specialized research institution for Jun porcelain in the country.
At the end of 2007, the Yuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government began planning the construction of a new Jun Kiln Site Museum. The Yuzhou Jun Kiln Site Museum is the only dedicated Jun porcelain museum in China. Together with the Ying River landscape across from it, it forms a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
The museum's logo was designed by renowned Tongji University professor Lin Jiayang. The central design concept is inspired by the ancient Chinese proverb "the center of the nine squares is called Jun." The main logo depicts a kiln mouth filled with porcelain, highlighting the meaning of "Jun" through different patterns. The outer pattern is an artistic manipulation of the Chinese character "song," "guan," and "yao" (kiln). The inner pattern resembles pieces of porcelain, evoking the saying: "A piece of Jun porcelain is worth a fortune!"
The Yuzhou Junguan Kiln Site Museum in China, situated in a warm temperate subhumid monsoon climate, is unique in that visitors can not only appreciate the origin, development, glory, production techniques, and the splendid cultural charm of Jun porcelain in the theme exhibition hall, but also witness the complete Jun porcelain production process in the Jun Porcelain Engineering Technology Research and Development Center, and participate in the on-site design and creation of their own Jun porcelain artwork. It is a perfect place to visit in all seasons.
The museum covers an area of 15,200 square meters and consists of three parts: the main exhibition hall, the site preservation center, and the Jun porcelain research and development center. The main exhibition hall covers an area of 11,000 square meters, spanning 126 meters from east to west, and is divided into six exhibition halls: four Jun porcelain culture halls, one Yuzhou history and culture hall, and one temporary exhibition hall.
The main exhibition hall has a construction area of 11,000 square meters and is divided into six exhibition halls: The State of Dayu, which mainly displays the long history and splendid culture of Yuzhou; A Thousand Years of Fire, which mainly traces the history of the development of Yuzhou ceramics, and displays the main characteristics of my country's porcelain making during the Song and Yuan dynasties when Jun kiln was produced and rapidly developed; Imperial Official Jun, which mainly displays the characteristics of Song Dynasty Jun official kiln wares and their status and extensive cultural influence in the history of Chinese ceramics and arts and crafts; The Way to Make Ware, which mainly displays the geographical environment, natural resources, cultural background and various advanced production techniques of Song Dynasty Jun official kiln wares; Everlasting Glory of A myriad of Colors, which mainly displays the brilliant achievements in the development of modern Jun porcelain and relevant knowledge of Jun porcelain appreciation; Wenyuan Yaji is a temporary exhibition hall.
