Huacheng Temple is located within Huachengyan Forest Park on the north bank of the Xiujiang River in the central urban area of Yuanzhou District, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province. Yichun, Jiangxi Province, is a sacred site for Zen Buddhism. Zen temples are one of Yichun's most distinctive historical and cultural features and a key tourism resource awaiting development. Yichun Huacheng Temple (abbreviated as "Huacheng Temple") is the ancestral site of two Buddhist temples: the upper one, Kaihua Temple, and the lower one, Huizhao Temple. It boasts a history of over 1,200 years.
In February 2008, Huacheng Zen Temple held a grand consecration ceremony for its Main Hall. The temple's main buildings, covering 50 mu (approximately 1,000 acres), were completed. They are located on the upper and lower cliffs, connected by stone steps. Currently, only the Main Hall is built on the lower cliff. The upper cliff, nestled against the mountain, houses the Water Guanyin Pavilion, the Reclining Buddha Pavilion, the Dharma Hall, and the Yunshui Hall. The Reclining Buddha and the Eighteen Arhats enshrined in the temple were donated by Myanmar. A brand new, spacious and bright Huacheng Zen Temple stands majestically. The temple currently houses 17 monks and nuns, along with a large number of lay Buddhists and believers. Various rituals are held according to established regulations, and the temple is very popular.
The subtropical monsoon climate makes it suitable for travel in all four seasons.
The main buildings of Huacheng Zen Temple are built on the upper and lower rocks, connected by stone steps. The lower rock has the Main Hall, and the upper rock is built against the mountain, with buildings such as the Water Guanyin Pavilion, Reclining Buddha Pavilion, Dharma Hall, and Yunshui Hall.
