Beijian Bridge, a stacked-beam wooden arch bridge, is located in Xiaqiao Village, Sixi Town. Because the bridge spans northward, it is named "Beijian Bridge."
The east end of the bridge is called "Qiaotou" by the locals. It is higher and has 16 stone steps. The west end is called "Qiaowei" and has a lower terrain and 26 stone steps.
The Beijian Bridge spanning the Beixi River has a reasonable overall structure and is imposing. The bridge houses are gray-tiled and red-framed, with flying eaves and animals growing on them. Ancient trees are shaded beside the bridge, and two rivers meet under the bridge.
Green mountains, clear waters, the Rainbow Bridge, and ancient trees complement each other, creating a captivating landscape. Professor Yang Daoming, a bridge expert from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, visited the site and provided guidance. He exclaimed, "Over 400 years ago, the Chinese working people knew how to apply mechanical principles to construct this type of stacked-beam wooden arch bridge. This is the fruit of their wisdom, a 'double gem' in Chinese bridge history." He personally inscribed the eight characters "Ancient Buildings, Cultural Relics, National Essence" on two plaques, each one atop the bridge.

After walking along a long cobblestone path, we arrived at the Beijian Bridge. Two towering ancient trees stood at the bridgehead, shading the bridge and the houses. The ridge ornaments on the bridge's eaves and the hanging fish on the pediment of the houses appeared and disappeared in the swaying branches. A small path branched off from the cobblestone path and extended to the other side of the stream via a small stone bridge.
Looking at the Beijian Bridge with its green tiles and red body on the wide stream beach, you feel as if you are in an ancient Song Dynasty painting.
