The Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall is located in the northeast corner of Baotu Spring. Facing it is a white marble archway with the inscription "Model for Future Generations." Two stone tigers, carved based on Han Dynasty statues, stand guard on either side of the archway, imbued with both auspicious majesty and a sense of historical weight.
Entering the memorial archway, the central building—the Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall—comes into view. This two-story, pavilion-style building, imitating ancient architecture, boasts carved beams and painted rafters, imbued with a quaint charm. A plaque in the center of the first floor reads "Jinan Massacre Memorial Hall." This inscription was written by He Luli, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. Her father, He Siyuan, was Director of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education at the time of the massacre. At his suggestion, nearly every public school in the province erected a memorial commemorating the massacre.
Entering the memorial hall, the most eye-catching feature is the full-length bronze statue of Mr. Cai Gongshi. The background is a painting of "Jinan after the Japanese bombardment," inlaid with Mao Zedong's words about the Jinan Massacre from his article "Why Can the Red Regime in China Exist?" Extensive historical materials are displayed on both sides, divided into sections such as "Stormy Storm," "Bloody Ancient City," and "Shared Hatred Against the Enemy."
