Wenzhou Zoo, located in the scenic Lotus Core Scenic Area of Jingshan Park, opened to the public on October 1, 2000. Covering 280 mu (approximately 16 acres) and situated at an altitude of 150 meters, Wenzhou Zoo is designed to meet the standards of a national second-class zoo. Its animal exhibits utilize a combination of advanced domestic and international free-range enclosures and ecologically designed cages.
The zoo has three entrances: the East Gate, the North Gate, and the West Gate. The park is fully equipped with amusement facilities, shops, restaurants, etc. It is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a Zhejiang Province Science Popularization Education Base, a Zhejiang Province Ecological Environment Education Demonstration Base, a Zhejiang Province Ecological Morality Education Base, a Wenzhou Civilized Unit, and a Wenzhou Terrestrial Wildlife Rescue Center.
