The Pearl River Source Scenic Area is located 47 kilometers north of Qujing City in eastern Yunnan Province. The entire scenic area comprises the Pearl River Source at Ma Xiong Mountain, Huashan Lake, and some urban attractions, covering a total area of 50 square kilometers. The Pearl River Source Scenic Area is a forest park, a provincial-level scenic spot, and an international water conservancy scenic spot.
The scenic area is lush with forests and gurgling streams, creating a unique landscape reminiscent of "one drop of water flowing through three rivers, a single stream separating two winding paths." In spring and summer, the mountains are covered in vibrant, dazzling horse cherry blossoms. These blossoms, along with the pine trees, the world's first compass, the world's first chessboard, the Pearl River Source Stone Archway, the Pearl River Source's first waterfall, the Xiake Thatched Cottage, and the Pearl River Zen Temple, create a breathtaking and unique natural and cultural landscape.
