Dajing is located seven kilometers northwest of Ciping in Jinggangshan. It was the first place Mao Zedong arrived at when he led the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army to Jinggangshan in late October 1927. He led the Red Army among the masses, disseminating revolutionary truths to them, organizing and arming them, helping them engage in productive labor, and resolving practical difficulties.
A Red Army medical clinic was also established here, providing free medical treatment to local people. Educational reform work began here for the local armed forces led by Wang Zuo. In February 1928, Wang Zuo led the local armed forces to join the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army and was reorganized into the Second Battalion of the Second Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army, thus strengthening the revolutionary ranks.
The revolutionary site of Dajing has been designated a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site and is open to the public. The local residents' homes are tranquil and their simple architectural style complements the surroundings beautifully. The rice paddies surrounding the village rise like a heavenly ladder into the misty depths.
With a subtropical humid monsoon climate, travelers arriving here from the bustle of big cities are greeted by a landscape painting and a poem of alpine pastoral life, refreshing their eyes and ears and relieving their worries. It's a great place to visit in all seasons.
Revolutionary historical sites include Mao Zedong's former residence and the former Red Army Medical Clinic. Besides these historical sites, Dajing boasts rare alpine and pastoral scenery, reminiscent of China's renowned mountains and rivers. The surrounding mountains offer ridges and peaks, crowned by pine trees and bamboos, lush greenery, and forests of ancient trees. Streams flow clear and refreshing, and stone fish are easily spotted. The area is also home to the delicious stone partridge and the rare and protected giant salamander.
It is recommended to play for about 2 hours.
