Zhuangyuan Mansion, the former residence of Zhao Yijiong, Guizhou's first top scholar in literature, is located at No. 1 Zhuangyuan Street in Qingyan Ancient Town . Zhuangyuan Street intersects with North Street, with the southern section called " Xiayuan Street . " Signs along North Street make it easy to find. A simple couplet, " Qinhe Puzhi, the Analects of Confucius ," stands before the main gate , reflecting the owner's lifelong aspirations.

The mansion, facing south and north, consists of two quadrangle courtyards, each with a main hall and two side wings. It is built in the hip-and-gable roof style and covers a total area of ​​approximately 700 square meters. The front hall, main hall, two side wings, and front gate remain. On the inner wall of the front gate are traces of various " Shou " characters, believed to have been left by Zhao Yijiong's great-great-grandfather, Zhao Lilun, at his centenary.
