Located in Pan'an County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, the Zhuxiling Ancient Road was built during the Northern Song Dynasty. It stretches 5 kilometers from the foot of Zhuxiling in Anwen Town in the east to Xitang'an in Dongyang City in the west. The roadbed is 2 meters wide and is remarkably well-preserved, paved with interlocking stone blocks. Both sides are lushly planted, with clusters of sweetgum trees and over 20 ancient maple trees. This ancient route served as the official route from Anwen to Dongyang, Yongkang, and Jinhua. In late autumn, the mountains are blanketed in crimson leaves, resembling a rosy cloud.
The climate is subtropical monsoon, characterized by mild weather and abundant rainfall. Due to the complex terrain, which includes high and low mountains, plateaus, and hills, the temperature, precipitation, and sunshine vary greatly across the county.
The average annual temperature ranges from 13.9°C to 17.4°C, with an annual accumulated temperature of 4,255°C to 5,534°C. The average temperature in January (lowest) is 2.0°C to 4.3°C, and the average temperature in July (highest) is 25.6°C to 28.8°C. The four seasons are characterized by a late warming in spring, an early drop in autumn, and a short frost-free period (200 to 243 days). The mountains are covered in snow, and low-temperature frosts are common.
While rainfall is abundant, it varies significantly between seasons. The average annual precipitation ranges from 1409.8 to 1527.8 mm, with June (the highest) averaging 208.3 to 246.5 mm and November (the lowest) averaging 34.8 to 52.7 mm. Climate-related disasters are frequent and can occur in all seasons.
There are frost and snow damage in winter, late spring cold snaps and storms around the Qingming Festival, lightning strikes and high temperatures in midsummer, and frequent droughts and typhoons in late autumn.
