An ancient temple nestled in the mountains, its natural beauty soothes the mind. Guanyin Temple, a long-standing Zen Buddhist lineage and now a member of the Linji school of Zen, is located in the Xishanyi Construction Community in Dianbu Town, Feidong County, Hefei City, Anhui Province. It is a branch of Feidong Dingguang Temple and is approximately an hour's drive from downtown Hefei.
While all the major tourist attractions are crowded, there is still a piece of pure land in a corner of the green mountains, solemn and peaceful...
The condition of the mountain temple was not optimistic. Much of the main hall was dilapidated, the red paint on the walls had long since peeled, the tiles were damaged, and the hall, supported by a few pillars, bore a look of age and decay. The temple was remote and relatively unknown. Even during Dharma assemblies, the attendees were mostly elderly lay Buddhists who had been protecting the Dharma for many years.
Subtropical monsoon climate; suitable for travel in all four seasons.
