Xiangulou is located in Sanhe Town, Hefei. It was officially founded in 1898 by Shi Daosheng, Peng Zhongqiao, and Wang Liangzhi, who jointly invested in the food industry "Zhonghexiang." The original site of the "Jingxian Guild Hall" is over a century old. Shi Daosheng was a kind and generous person, known for his generosity and integrity. He believed in the Buddhist principle of "good deeds are rewarded with good deeds," and his family offered him incense year-round, paying him homage.
The head of the Sanhe department store tycoon "Jin Jufeng" had a close relationship with Shi Daosheng. Influenced by him, he gathered together various businesses, raised a large amount of money, and built a new "Fairy Lady Building", sculpted a golden statue, set up an incense table, lit candles, offered tribute cakes, burned incense in the morning and evening, and kowtowed at dawn and dusk.
Mr. Jin Zhuzhai was a wealthy man. At the age of forty-seven, he had six sons, but he was troubled by his lack of a daughter. On the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival, he led his wife and family, cleansed their hands, wore plain clothes, burned incense, and knelt in prayer, begging for a daughter. As luck would have it, his sincerity paid off, and the following year (1903), his wife gave birth to a daughter, whom she named "Qigu."
From then on, the Immortal's Tower became renowned, attracting a steady stream of devotees from Shu, Tong, and Lu counties, as well as Lu'an, Hefei, and Wuhu, flocking to Sanhe Town to seek the Immortal's help and pray for longevity and peace. Zhonghexiang's business flourished thanks to this prestigious award, and its market share once dominated numerous prominent towns in central Anhui, Chaohu Lake, and the Yangtze River Basin. Today, the Immortal's Tower largely retains its original appearance, along with the stone stele inscribed with the inscription "Po Xin Ji Shi" erected in 1936.
