Taxi airport to strip cost

I found a post from 8 years ago that said the cost was $15. I'm sure it doesn't cost this much anymore. What is the latest going rate?

If you’re taking a taxi from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to the Las Vegas Strip in 2025, the cost is now based on a flat-rate zone system rather than the old meter-plus-traffic approach.

Typical taxi costs (2025)

  • South Strip hotels (e.g. Mandalay Bay, Luxor) — ≈ US$19 one-way.
  • Central Strip (e.g. Bellagio, Aria, Caesars) — ≈ US$23 one-way.
  • North Strip / further-north resorts (e.g. near Sahara / Stratosphere) — ≈ US$27 one-way.

Keep in mind additional costs that can increase the total fare:

  • Airport surcharge (already included in flat rates from LAS).
  • Credit-card surcharge if paying by card (some taxis charge a few extra dollars).
  • Driver tip — it’s customary to add ~15-20%, so budget extra for that.

What this means in real terms

For example, a taxi from LAS to a central Strip hotel like Bellagio or Aria would cost about US$23 base fare + tip, so total you might pay ≈ US$27–30 depending on tip amount. For South-Strip hotels, you’d pay around US$19–22 total, and for northern Strip or farther-out hotels about US$27–32.

Comparison with older fares

Yes — the US$15 fare you saw from 8 years ago is outdated. The current flat rates (≈ US$19–27) reflect revised taxi-zone pricing that took effect in 2020.

What to check when you land

  • Make sure the taxi is a licensed LAS-airport cab — they use the regulated flat-rate system.
  • If you pay by credit card, ask about any surcharge before you confirm the fare.
  • Have some small bills or cash ready (for fare + tip), since tipping is expected.
  • Compare with rideshare: sometimes Uber/Lyft fares (especially outside surge) are close to taxi costs — but taxis avoid surge pricing and have a regulated flat rate.

Bottom line: A taxi from LAS to the Strip today will generally cost you around US$19–27 one-way, depending on which part of the Strip you’re headed to. After tip you’re likely looking at ≈ US$25–35 total — still fairly affordable and often a good choice if you want convenience and predictability, especially compared with variable rideshare or shuttle fares.
