For a first-time visit to Atlanta with a car, staying close to the nightlife scene is a great choice to make the most of your weekend! Atlanta has a vibrant nightlife, particularly around Midtown, Buckhead, and Downtown, so you'll want to be in a central area where you can walk to popular bars, restaurants, and clubs, while still having easy access to your car for exploring other parts of the city.
Here are a few hotel options that are within walking distance to the nightlife scene, as well as some great happy hour spots in the area:
- The Georgian Terrace Hotel (Midtown): This historic hotel is located in Midtown, just a short walk from the Fox Theatre, Piedmont Park, and many bars and restaurants. It's a great spot for exploring the nightlife in the area, and you'll find several bars and rooftop lounges nearby. The hotel offers a luxurious feel and a central location for walking around Midtown’s bustling scene.
- Hotel Clermont (Old Fourth Ward): Known for its cool, vintage vibe, Hotel Clermont is located in the Old Fourth Ward area, which is a trendy neighborhood with a great nightlife scene. - The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta (Downtown): If you're looking for a high-end option with easy access to both nightlife and cultural attractions, The Ritz-Carlton is a solid choice. It's located near Midtown and Downtown, within walking distance of popular bars and nightlife venues. Additionally, it’s a short ride to Buckhead for more upscale options.
- The InterContinental Buckhead (Buckhead): If you don’t mind staying a little outside of the immediate downtown area, Buckhead offers an upscale nightlife scene. The InterContinental is a great hotel located near high-end shopping, dining, and clubs. It’s a bit further from downtown, but Buckhead itself has a lively nightlife with plenty of bars and restaurants.
As for happy hour spots, here are a few great recommendations:
