Parking International Hourly but flying Domestic

We are flying to Orlando on Thanksgiving morning.

I decided to make a parking reservation but could only get one at International Hourly.

Do you have to take the shuttle around the airport or can you go through security at International and then take the plane train to domestic terminals? What's the easiest way?

We are flying Delta, btw.

When parking at the International Hourly parking lot at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and flying domestically, you will need to navigate a couple of steps to get to your gate. Here's a detailed breakdown of your options:

Do you need to take a shuttle to get to the terminals?

No, you do not need to take a shuttle if you are parked at the International Hourly parking lot. However, you will need to walk to the International Terminal (Terminal E) and go through security there before proceeding to the Domestic Terminal (Terminal 1, 2, 3, or 4) via the Plane Train. The international terminal and domestic terminals are connected by the Plane Train, a quick and efficient automated people mover system.

Steps for the easiest route:

  • Park at International Hourly Lot: Once you park, head toward the entrance of the International Terminal (Terminal E). You’ll need to go inside the terminal to check in for your Delta flight if you haven’t already done so.
  • Go through Security at Terminal E: You will go through security at the International Terminal. This might be less crowded than the domestic terminals, so it could be more convenient to go through security here, especially during busy times like Thanksgiving morning.
  • Take the Plane Train: After passing through security, follow the signs to the Plane Train, which is the easiest and quickest way to reach the domestic terminals. The Plane Train is a short, automated train ride that connects all the terminals at ATL, including both domestic and international terminals.
  • Exit at Your Domestic Terminal: The Plane Train will take you to the domestic terminals (Terminals 1, 2, 3, or 4). Since you're flying Delta, you will likely be flying out of Terminal 2 (Concourse T), but double-check your gate information just in case.

Alternative Option:

  • If you prefer, you can also take a shuttle bus from the International Hourly lot to the domestic terminal, but the Plane Train is much faster and more convenient.

Summary:

The easiest way to get from the International Hourly parking lot to your domestic flight at ATL is to park at the lot, go through security at Terminal E, and then take the Plane Train to the domestic terminals. It's a straightforward process, and the Plane Train makes it quick and convenient to get to your gate, especially with Delta flights typically departing from Terminal 2.
