Hotel in midtown or Decatur or buckhead

I’m will be alone, june 19-22. I read the forums and decided these are more accessible and safe locations.

Looking for a hotel that is roach and bed bug free, I have phobia of roaches. Would like mid range but clean in a safe area.

Not planning to rent a car if marta/uber can work

It sounds like you're looking for a safe, clean, and accessible hotel for your trip to Atlanta in June. All three areas you're considering—Midtown, Decatur, and Buckhead—are great choices in terms of safety, accessibility, and convenience, especially if you plan on using MARTA or Uber to get around. Here's a breakdown of each area and some hotel recommendations that meet your requirements for being clean, roach- and bedbug-free, and in a safe location.

Midtown Atlanta

Midtown is one of Atlanta’s most vibrant and accessible neighborhoods. It has a lot to offer in terms of dining, culture, and nightlife, and is very walkable. Midtown is also well-served by MARTA, so you’ll have easy access to public transportation, including the MARTA station at 10th Street and Piedmont Avenue. It's a popular area for tourists and locals alike, so you'll find plenty of hotel options.

  • Hotel Indigo Atlanta Midtown: This mid-range hotel offers a comfortable stay with modern amenities, located in a safe area near Piedmont Park and plenty of restaurants. It’s well-rated for cleanliness and customer service, with no issues regarding pests reported.
  • The Georgian Terrace Hotel: A historic hotel with a great location near the Fox Theatre and other Midtown attractions. It’s a safe area with good access to MARTA. It’s also an excellent option for travelers who prefer a more traditional hotel experience in a beautiful building.
  • Hampton Inn & Suites Atlanta Midtown: A reliable option with clean, comfortable rooms and a great location. It’s within walking distance to the Midtown MARTA station, making it easy to get around. The hotel offers excellent customer service and is in a safe area.

Decatur

Decatur is a charming, walkable neighborhood with a small-town feel, but still close to the city. It has a thriving dining scene and is also well-connected by MARTA (the Decatur station on the Blue Line). It's quieter than Midtown, which might appeal to you if you prefer a more laid-back atmosphere, but it’s still close enough to enjoy Atlanta’s major attractions.

  • Courtyard by Marriott Atlanta Decatur Downtown: Located in a safe area near the Decatur MARTA station, this hotel offers modern amenities and a clean, comfortable atmosphere. It’s a great option for those wanting to stay in a quieter neighborhood but still have easy access to downtown Atlanta.
  • The Artmore Hotel: This boutique hotel offers a more unique experience in Decatur. It’s in a safe area and is highly rated for cleanliness and service. The hotel also offers easy access to public transit and is close to some of the best restaurants in Decatur.

Buckhead

Buckhead is a more upscale neighborhood in Atlanta, known for its high-end shopping and fine dining. While it’s a bit farther from downtown, Buckhead is well-served by MARTA (the Buckhead station on the Red Line), and it offers a safe environment with plenty of amenities. It’s also great if you enjoy a more luxurious atmosphere.

  • Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta: This hotel is in a prime location near Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square Mall. It offers a great mix of comfort and luxury at a reasonable price. The hotel is highly rated for cleanliness and offers excellent customer service. It’s a great option if you want to be in a more upscale area but still have easy access to transportation.
  • Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead: This is another upscale hotel in the heart of Buckhead. It has an excellent reputation for cleanliness and comfort, and it’s close to MARTA. The hotel also offers a great variety of dining options and amenities.

General Advice: All of the hotels mentioned are in safe areas, but it’s always a good idea to check recent reviews for any updated information regarding cleanliness and pest control. Since you're concerned about roaches and bed bugs, most reputable hotels have very strict cleanliness policies, so you should be safe in these mid-range options. Additionally, if you’re booking through a site like TripAdvisor or Booking.com, look for reviews that specifically mention cleanliness and pest-free conditions to get peace of mind before making your reservation.

Transportation: All of the areas you're considering have good access to MARTA, which will allow you to get around the city without a car. Midtown and Decatur are particularly walkable and have a lot of local attractions within walking distance. In Buckhead, you may need to use MARTA or Uber to get to downtown attractions, but it’s still an easy commute.

Ultimately, any of these neighborhoods would be great options for your stay, but if you're looking for a mix of accessibility, safety, and a lively atmosphere, Midtown could be the best option for you. Decatur is a quieter alternative, and Buckhead offers more upscale accommodations and shopping.
