HI all,
We are debating between the following lodging (they seem all on the same beach): Wailea Ekahi condos, Palms at Wailea, Kihei Surfside and Mana Kai.
The latter two seem closer to the beach but the other two seem like they might have more updated decor. We are looking for an ocean view 1 bedroom which they all seem to have. We are also hoping to find a unit with full AC. It seems like some of the units will have full AC. Grateful for recommendations to help us choose!
Aloha! It sounds like you have some great options for your stay on Keawakapu Beach. Let’s break down the four condo choices you’re considering, and I’ll highlight some key factors to help you decide.
Wailea Ekahi Condos:
This is a popular choice, particularly for those who like spacious, well-maintained properties with a bit of a resort feel. Wailea Ekahi is set in a beautiful location, with access to the beach and great ocean views. Many of the units here have been renovated, but you’ll want to double-check with individual listings to confirm if the unit you're considering has full AC, as not all units have central air (though many offer ceiling fans and cross-ventilation). The property itself has several pools and is well-suited for a relaxing stay with easy access to Wailea’s upscale shopping and dining. It’s a bit more spread out compared to some of the others, which can offer a more private feel.
Palms at Wailea:
This complex offers spacious condos with a tropical vibe. The units here are also very well-maintained, and many have been updated with modern finishes. Similar to Wailea Ekahi, not all units come with full AC, so you’d want to confirm with the property management or rental listing. One advantage is the location—it's just a short walk to the beach, and it offers more of a resort-style experience. It’s more residential than some of the other options, so it’s generally quieter.
Kihei Surfside:
Kihei Surfside is closer to the beach than the previous two options. It’s a smaller, quieter property, which may appeal to those who want to be right on the water with less foot traffic. It’s also known for having incredible views, especially for sunset watchers. While the building itself is a bit older, many of the units have been renovated. However, you may find some of the décor to be less modern than at Wailea Ekahi or Palms at Wailea. The property does not offer full air conditioning in all units, so it’s crucial to confirm that your unit has AC. If you’re looking for the closest proximity to the beach, this is one of your best options.
Mana Kai:
Mana Kai is another fantastic option on Keawakapu Beach. It’s a beachfront property, which means you’ll have direct access to the sand and water. The units here tend to have great ocean views, and while the property is older, many of the units have been renovated. Full AC is available in some units, but not all, so again, double-check with the property management. Mana Kai is a smaller, quieter property compared to Wailea Ekahi, but it has a great location for both beachfront access and proximity to local restaurants. If you want to be right on the beach and love hearing the waves, this is an excellent choice.
Things to consider:
Ultimately, it’s a balance between beach proximity, property amenities, and décor. If you’re after something more resort-like with updated décor, Wailea Ekahi or Palms at Wailea might be ideal. If you want to be right on the beach with a more low-key experience, Kihei Surfside or Mana Kai would be great choices. I’d recommend confirming with the property management about AC availability to ensure your comfort.
Hope this helps, and enjoy your stay on beautiful Keawakapu Beach!
