Koloa Landing vs HBR

I am planning a trip at the end of August for my wife and I. I am having trouble deciding between Koloa Landing resort on the south shore and HBR on the north. HBR can be about half the price, but am curious on feedback. The reviews all seem to go back and forth depending on which unit you get. We will be doing things on all sides of the island, so the location doesn’t matter much for proximity to a certain area. Can anyone provide some pros vs cons or just general feedback on either property? Also, this will be our first time in Kauai.
