Park Pass

One day we are driving in the park and another day we are renting e-bikes to go in the park

Would I need to pay for 4 adults - $20 bicycle pass and then $35 for the vehicle pass for the other day?

Thank you

In Acadia National Park, entrance and activity fees are structured based on the type of access—vehicle, bicycle, or individual pedestrian. Here’s how it generally works:

For a day when you’re driving a vehicle into the park, you pay for a vehicle pass. The current cost for a private vehicle is $35 for a 7-day pass. This pass covers everyone in that vehicle, so all 4 adults traveling together in the car are included under that single $35 fee.

For a day when you plan to ride e-bikes, there is a separate fee for bicycles. The bicycle pass is $20 per bicycle for 7 days, and each rider needs their own pass. So if all 4 adults are riding e-bikes, you would need to purchase 4 separate bicycle passes at $20 each, totaling $80 for that day.

  • Day 1 (driving into the park): $35 vehicle pass for the car, covers all passengers.
  • Day 2 (riding e-bikes): $20 per adult bicycle pass × 4 adults = $80.

Important tips:

  • Vehicle passes can be purchased at the park entrance or online in advance.
  • Bicycle passes are typically available at park visitor centers, some local shops, and e-bike rental locations.
  • The passes are valid for 7 consecutive days, so if your trip is short, you don’t need separate daily passes.
  • If you have a Senior Pass, Annual Pass, or other National Park passes, check for any applicable discounts or waivers.

In summary, yes—you would pay $35 for the vehicle day covering all 4 adults, and $80 total for the 4 bicycle passes on the e-bike day.
