The Abu Dhabi branch of the Louvre Museum, designed by Jean Nouvel, features a distinctive dome that creates a semi-outdoor space. The combination of the blue Arabian Gulf and the white buildings creates a magical atmosphere. Simply sitting on a bench and gazing around can make for a meaningful experience. Inside, the exhibition spaces showcase a variety of displays, including paintings and antiques. There are numerous historical pieces, such as works by Monet and Rembrandt, as well as statues and stone monuments.
For access, you will likely need to use a bus or taxi. There are plenty of Ubers available, so finding a taxi shouldn't be an issue, and the prices are reasonable. I personally took a bus from the airport to get there. I boarded the A1 bus heading from the airport to the city center, and with one transfer, I was able to reach the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Although Google Maps may indicate that the bus is out of service or that you need to walk a considerable distance from the bus stop, there is actually a bus stop at the Louvre Abu Dhabi, allowing you to arrive faster than the time shown on Google Maps. To ride the bus, you will need a Hafilat card, which can be purchased at the airport. Just mention that you want to go to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the staff will charge the necessary amount and issue the card for you. While it may take some time, the bus is very affordable and offers a great way to experience the atmosphere of Abu Dhabi, so I highly recommend it.
Tickets for the Louvre Abu Dhabi can be purchased on Trip.com for about 1,500 yen, making it quite affordable. If you're visiting Abu Dhabi, be sure to check it out!
