Aizu Traditional Crafts and Sake Culture Experience Course
This course explores the history and culture of the Aizu region, offering a unique experience of sake (nihonshu) brewing and traditional crafts.
• Morning (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM): Stroll through the castle and gardens
• Visit Tsuruga Castle and stroll through Oyakuen, a Japanese garden beloved by past feudal lords. Enjoy a relaxing time here, also renowned for its medicinal herbs.
• Lunch (12:30 PM - 2:00 PM): Enjoy local Aizu cuisine at a local restaurant.
• Afternoon (2:00 PM - 4:30 PM): Sake and Lacquerware Experience
• Visit Suehiro Shuzo Kaei-gura, a renowned sake brewery in Aizu, for a tour and sake tasting. • Stroll down Nanokamachi Street, a street that retains the romance of the Taisho period, and visit workshops specializing in Aizu-nuri lacquerware, a specialty of the Aizu region, and traditional craft shops. You can also try your hand at local crafts, such as painting Akabeko (red beak figures).
