Replica Spring in Almaty

Wandering through Almaty, I kept stumbling across clusters of fake spring blossoms—plastic sakura branches tucked into corners of parks, storefronts, and roundabouts. They mimicked the season with a kind of stubborn cheer, echoing the recent spring festival, now faded. Left behind like decorations after a party, they’ve tried to get spring going a little earlier, even as the real blooms slowly took over.
