Kaleiçi (Old Town)
Address – Antalya city center, Türkiye
Highlights – We wandered Kaleiçi without a map, and that was the right choice. The cobbled lanes twist between old Ottoman houses and vine-covered courtyards, opening suddenly to glimpses of the sea or a crumbling Roman wall. It’s touristy in parts, but early in the morning or just after sunset, it feels like another world. Cats nap on stone steps, and the scent of jasmine hangs in the air. We found a tiny rooftop café and watched the sky fade over the harbor.
Rating – 8.5/10
Termessos Ruins
Address – Güllük Dağı National Park, ~30 km northwest of Antalya
Highlights – This was the most haunting place we visited. Termessos is set high in the mountains, half-swallowed by forest. We climbed through pine trees and wildflowers to reach a ruined amphitheater with a view straight across the valley not a sound but wind and birds. It’s not restored or fenced off, which makes it feel like you’re discovering it yourself. Bring water and time; the stillness is worth it.
Rating – 9/10
Karaalioğlu Park
Address – South of Kaleiçi, overlooking the cliffs, Antalya
Highlights – We came here to escape the midday heat and ended up staying for the sea breeze and the views. The park isn’t fancy just shaded paths, scattered statues, and benches looking out over the cliffs to the turquoise Mediterranean. Locals stroll here in the evenings, and there’s a calm rhythm to it. One of those places where you sit, sip something cold, and watch the horizon shift.
