A September Stroll Through Kusasenri: Embracing Boundless Greenery at the Foot of a Volcano

Kusasenri, located at the foot of Mount Nakadake in the Aso Volcano region, is an expansive volcanic grassland. In September, the lush green fields come alive, with gentle breezes creating waves of grass that ripple across the landscape. In the distance, you can see white smoke rising from Mount Nakadake, adding to the majestic natural scenery. Here, you can not only admire the vast views but also spot cows and horses grazing peacefully, creating a serene and vibrant tableau.

Walking along the trails of Kusasenri, the tranquility of the surroundings offers a rare sense of release. Compared to the hustle and bustle of city life, time here seems to slow down, leaving only the purest breaths of nature. Standing in the middle of the grassland, surrounded by mountains, you realize that sometimes travel doesn't need a specific purpose—simply experiencing the vastness of nature is more than enough.

September 2025, Kusasenri became the most healing moment of my journey.
