Atami is a great place to escape the summer heat 🏖️ Explore the mysteries of Kinomiya Shrine

Every summer, Atami is crowded with tourists who come to enjoy the popular fireworks display over the sea. Atami is relatively quiet in June.
You can visit attractions at your leisure.

#Kumiya Shrine is dedicated to the local god "Kumiya Daimyojin" who protects Atami. Since ancient times, it has been worshipped by people for bringing good fortune and attracting good relationships.

We will continue along the mountain road and arrive at "Miyasaka no Yubiha".
Here you can see the history of Kinomiya Shrine.
After that, walk a short distance and pass through the double tunnels to reach your destination.

There is a bamboo forest at the entrance of the Palace Shrine, and you will feel a cool feeling the moment you walk in. Although it is an old shrine, it actually looks very new.

There is a coffee shop here where you can enjoy a cup of coffee in a green environment. They also sell other drinks, Lai Fu desserts, etc., which can also be bought as souvenirs.

On the left side of the main hall, you can walk through the "Kushuen Alley" and see the "Big Camphor" tree, a national natural monument that is regarded as a sacred tree.
This big nan tree is more than 2,100 years old and is still full of life.
Legend has it that walking around the tree trunk once can extend one's lifespan by one year, and if one makes a wish while walking around the tree trunk, the wish will come true.

As one of Japan's famous power spots,
You must come here when you come to Atami.
