🏡 Wat Bang Phai, a third-class royal monastery of the common type, was originally a local temple established around 1766.
Key attractions and highlights within the temple include:
🏚 The old ordination hall, housing Phra Phuttha Mongkhon Si Sukhothai or Luang Pho Thong, the principal Buddha image in the Maravijaya posture. The statue is made of gold and is believed to have been created during the late Ayutthaya period.
🏠 The new ordination hall, which received the royal consecration boundary in 1986.
🛖 The floating Tripitaka Hall, a four-gabled structure used to store Buddhist scriptures and enshrine a replica of the Emerald Buddha.
🏘 The Buddhist scripture school, designed in traditional Thai style, resembling the Chakri Maha Prasat Throne Hall in the Grand Palace. It is a three-story building.
🏚 The Dipangkorn Rasmijoti Pavilion, a place for meditation practice.
🧱 The temple wall, designed to mimic ancient military fortifications.
♨️ Wat Bang Phai: No. 15, Moo 3, Bang Rak Yai Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi Province.
