Wat Kamphaeng Bang Chak, Bangkok
👍An ancient temple since the Ayutthaya period, located on the banks of Khlong Bangkok Yai. It is a small temple, but still preserves the original condition of the ancient site.
🙏The ordination hall is in the late Ayutthaya period art. Inside, there is a principal Buddha image named "Luang Pho Busarakham", a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture. There are murals related to the shape of the world according to the Traibhumi concept. There are also Ten Jataka stories according to ancient beliefs.
🪷There are two medium-sized twelve-sided recessed pagodas built in pairs in front of the ordination hall. On the left and right, there are small chapels on each side. One is the enshrined replica of Luang Pho Ban Laem. The other chapel has been closed for more than 80 years. It is now open for visitors.
🙏Phra Wihan Phra Yuen has many ancient Buddha images made of bronze and wood. Most of them are standing Buddha images in the Subduing the Ocean posture and the Mara-Vijaya posture. Some are Buddha images in full regalia, which were popular during the Rattanakosin period. The face is like a mannequin, without a breast. It is a Buddha image from the reign of King Rama III.
