🙏Wat Chinorasaram Worawihan is a third-class royal temple, Worawihan type. The builder was Somdej Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phra Paramanuchit Chinoros while holding the title of Krom Muen Nuchit Chinoros. It was built in 1836 to be used as a place for meditation, Vipassana meditation, and to enjoy the posture on certain occasions.
🏰 It built a chapel, four-way chapels, a prang-shaped pagoda, and a large pagoda. The locals called the temple Wat Mai Wasukri after the original name, Prince Wasukri. It was later offered as a royal temple during the reign of King Rama IV.
Interesting and important things in the temple include:
🏰 Ubosot, a mixed art style from the reign of King Rama III, enshrining Phra Phuttha Chinnasi Woramongkhon Muni, the principal Buddha image in the chapel. It is a cast Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture.
🏡 4-direction chapels or covered chapels, 2 buildings per direction, totaling 8 buildings. Currently, only 2 remain.
🛕 A large pair of brick and mortar pagodas with 18 giants carrying them.
🏤 The palace of His Holiness Somdej Phra Maha Samana Chao Krom Phra Paramanuchitchinorot, built by King Rama IV as a gift.
