Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan
or commonly known as Wat Phu Khao Thong
📍.. Located on Chakkraphat Phong Road, Ban Bat Subdistrict, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok
📜.. It is an ancient temple built during the Ayutthaya period. It was originally called Wat Sakae. Later, King Rama I ordered the renovation and gave the temple a new name, Wat Saket, which means to cleanse the hair.
📸.. Important religious sites in the temple include:
.. Phra Suwannabanphot or Phu Khao Thong, which contains the relics of the Lord Buddha excavated in Kapilavastu.
🕰️.. Open daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
🎟️.. The fee for going up to the Phu Khao Thong pagoda is free for Thais,
but 100 baht for foreigners.
